Metrology Resource sells laser measurement sensors for accurate laser distance measurement using phase shift technology. We provide products described as laser distance measuring device, non-contact measurement sensor, laser measuring device, laser measurement sensor or rangefinders.
The
MRL3 Laser Measurement Sensor is a powerful and robust laser measuring module designed
to meet the demands of the industrial measurement market. They accurately
measure to any opaque surface. These laser measurement devices offer many outstanding features
including compact size, simple interfacing via serial RS-232 or analog outputs
and a visible laser spot. Read the technical specifications in the data sheets.
The MRL3-H model is identical to the MRL3 sensors except, it has an extended temperature range down to -40ºC.
MRC’s two MRL3 models have laser measurement ranges from 0.05 m to 150 m. All models are standard with RS-232 serial interfaces, digital outputs and programmable digital inputs. All models are made to IP65 specification.

Principles of Operation
The MRL3 device is a phase shift laser measurement device that compares the outgoing and returning wave signals to determine the distance to a target. These frequency waves are timed to an internal clock to measure the time it takes for the laser light to go out and return to the sensor. This phase shift is often calibrated based on ambient lighting conditions and temperature. Click to read more about phase shift technology.

Distance Laser Sensor

The MRL3-30 is a long-distance laser measurement sensor from Metrology Resource Co. This non-contact laser measurement sensor
reaches distances up to 150 m on reflective targets with an accuracy of
± 3mm.

Distance Laser Sensor

The MRL3-15 has identical specifications to the MRL3-30 except the accuracy is
± 1.5mm. Both laser sensors are available with a heater option for use below 0ºC.
