Metrology Resources provides Crane position measurement with distance sensors, it also provides time-of-fight distance measurement, bridge cranes, tower cranes, jib cranes and crane hoist.

Knowing the exact position of a crane's trolley is critical for tower cranes and bridge cranes. The MRL2 distance laser sensor uses time-of-flight distance measurement to report the exact position of the trolley along the crane's jib (mast).

MRC's non-contact sensor is well suited to this application because the unit is simple to install and aim. It can measure to any surface on the trolley, eliminating the need for special targets. Distance data is relayed long distances to the operator cab or a location on the ground.

Continuous sampling with the laser sensor reports the exact position of the trolley when it is traveling along the jib.
